Dirt floors contribute to respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases, which, according to the Ministry of Public Health, are among the leading causes of morbidity in Guatemala, highlighting the need for more hygienic environments.

HogaRES aims to develop a sustainable model that eliminates dirt floors in Guatemala, replacing them with concrete ones.

The HogaRES project was launched last Thursday, September 5, in three communities of San Antonio, Suchitepéquez: Concepción Ixtacapa, La Conformidad sector; Concepción Ixtacapa, Sajquí sector; and Aldea Margaritas del Rosario.
Is an effort to improve housing conditions and quality of life for Guatemalans. This project is led by private organizations and institutions who know they must work together to attain social well-being.
Since 2009, different families in San Juan Sacatepéquez and El Progreso have been benefited, receiving construction materials that are used for the foundry of safe and dignified floors.
